Nitrogen (NN-100 or IG-100)
What is NN-100 ?
Nitrogen also known as NN-100 or sometime IG-100, offers pure 100% nitrogen fire suppression for total flooding in electrical substations, data centers and telecom rooms. Comprising 78% of air, it is non-toxic and environmentally friendly, stored at pressures of 200-300 bar for instant release without residue or reactions.
How does NN-100 works ?
Nitrogen extinguishes fire by displacing oxygen from the protected areas. By reducing oxygen concentration below combustion levels, the fire is stopped effectively. As nitrogen is an inert gas, it does not react with metals, plastics or electronic components.
Refilling and Hydrotesting of Nitrogen NN100 Gas Cylinders
Refilling of NN100 cylinders requires strict safety, especially for 300 bar high-pressure systems. Cylinders are first checked for physical defects and valve integrity. After depressurization, cylinders are dried and refilled using high pressure filling pumps.
Leak checks and pressure stabilization are carried out before labeling.
Hydrostatic of NN100 cylinders checks the strength of the cylinder by pressurizing it with water. Cylinders that pass the expansion limits are approved and certified for further use.
