FK-5-1-12 with chemical name as Perfluoro (2-methyl-3-pentanone) and chemical formula as CF3CF2C(O)CF(CF3)2 is a clean agent fire suppression liquid used in fire protection systems.
FK-5-1-12 is environmentally responsible. It has zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and very low global warming potential (GWP), making it a sustainable fire protection solution.
How does FK5112 Works?
The agent is stored as a liquid in cylinders but pressurized with nitrogen. Upon activation, the pressure forces the liquid through piping, where it discharges from nozzles as a gas/liquid mist that vaporizes rapidly.
FK-5-1-12 is discharged as a colorless, non-conductive, and non-toxic gas, typically within seconds of detection, by rapidly vaporizing upon leaving nozzle sprayers. It operates by absorbing heat and removing energy from the combustion zone, extinguishing fire in under 10 seconds without significantly depleting oxygen, making it safe for occupied spaces
